「豪小子」林書豪確定加盟火箭隊後，國內緊接的籃球盛事，將是林書豪8月底返台參加籃球營。內政部次長簡太郎昨天表示，林書豪的父親或母親都具中華民國國籍，林書豪至今也未放棄中華民國國籍，他是百分百的中華民國國民，「一點問題都沒有」。
簡太郎又說，林書豪一出生就在美國，也在美國成長、求學。由於他並未在台灣入戶籍，嚴格的說，林書豪是「在台無戶籍國民」。目前在台無戶籍國民有好幾萬人。
林書豪名氣大，大陸說他是中國人，美國人說他「當然是美國人」，台灣人也說他有中華民國國籍，連立委質詢內政部，都問林書豪是哪裡人？
簡太郎表示，內政部清查相關資料，林書豪並未喪失中華民國國籍，依現行規定，林書豪若想放棄中華民國國籍，應循彰化戶政事務所，陳報放棄中華民國國籍，經內政部核准才能放棄。但內政部的資料顯示，林書豪並未放棄中華民國國籍。
