台北時間7月28日消息，德懷特-霍華德仍想被交易，這個消息是如何洩露出來的？總裁大衛-史騰有點生氣，據《今日美國》報導，他把矛頭指向了霍華德的經紀人丹-費根。
魔術竭力挽留霍華德，總經理本周再次會見霍華德，這本是秘密進行的，但在會面之後，馬上就被媒體報導出來，而且還是來自內部人士的消息。
史騰對此非常不滿，「這太奇怪了，如果是霍華德的經紀人洩漏的話，」史騰接受電話採訪時說，「‘據參與談判的人士透露’，那會是誰呢？」
會不會是魔術總經理羅勃-亨尼根呢？「不，我覺得不是他，也不會是魔術總裁阿列克斯-馬丁斯，」史騰說。
參與談判的人經常會洩漏消息，不過大多是匿名的，他們一方面想通過媒體造勢，另一方面又不想因為透露名字而承擔責任。
費根顯然對雇主霍華德非常忠誠，他洩漏消息是為了幫助霍華德。當魔術總經理打出「我們要留下他」的牌時，幾乎令很多球隊改打算盤，費根此時洩露霍華德仍想離開的消息，明確表明了霍華德的態度。
霍華德表示他只想到籃網或者湖人，如果交易沒有成功的話，明年他將選擇成為自由人，然後加入小牛。
費根直接斷了魔術的希望，他以「匿名人士」的身份透露消息，逼得魔術有所動作。他讓自已的雇主霍華德得到了想要的--一張離開奧蘭多的票。費根這招很聰明，這也是他為什麼會成為NBA最大經紀人之一的原因。
對於霍華德仍想離開魔術的消息，史騰認為他能接受。霍華德想走，而魔術不想放人，除非能得到令他們滿意的回報，魔術希望得到薪資空間、年輕球員和選秀權。
